Deciding to make banana walnut caramel cake resulted from having an overripe banana and a goal of making all SK recipes.


As with other SK cakes, I made a half-version of this cake. It was my first time making an upside down cake, so that was pretty exciting. And I think it may be one of the best banana cakes I’ve ever had. I think the recipe included just a little bit of sour cream, and I’ve been wondering if that’s what puts it over the edge. I may just make the base (no walnut/caramel topping) for my basic banana bread recipe from now on.
