This recipe was really, really…unique. It was a flavor I’ve never had before. Something about the combination of cumin, red wine vinegar, tomato sauce, and paprika. I don’t know what region of the world to point it to.
This was also the first time I used bread in a sauce. It gave the sauce a hearty texture, but also felt weird to do. Seems like a chickpea and spinach recipe should be something light and healthy, so adding a bunch of bread to it felt counter-intuitive to me. This is a never-again one.
